In 2008, I co-founded Artefact Production, a Tbilisi-based company through which I develop, produce, and direct documentary films. My work combines observational and experimental approaches to explore human stories, cultural transformations, and the social and political landscapes of the South Caucasus.
I hold degrees from Goldsmiths, University of London, and Tbilisi State University. Before focusing on creative documentary filmmaking, I spent over 15 years working with broadcasting channels and media organizations in Georgia. I began my career as a reporter and later moved into producing and directing factual television programs and documentaries. I have also worked as a freelance producer for international broadcasters and agencies, including BBC, France 24, and the Associated Press.
I am a recipient of Chevening, NUFFIC, and Open Society Foundation scholarships, which enabled me to pursue further studies in the UK, the Netherlands, and Hungary. Key professional training programs include Documentary Film in the Digital Age at Central European University and the European Social Documentary (ESoDoc) program.
Alongside my filmmaking practice, I teach documentary and experimental filmmaking at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management (GIPA) and have delivered workshops, masterclasses, and training programs internationally, supporting emerging filmmakers across Europe and the South Caucasus. For ten years, I worked as a commissioning editor and mentor for the media platform Chai Khana, supervising short documentary production and guiding new voices in the region.
I am a co-founder of Chai Docs, a documentary initiative dedicated to nurturing regional storytellers through workshops, mentorship, and international collaboration, and a founding member of DOCA – the Documentary Association of Georgia.
